Ribal Hosn

Born in Lebanon and raised in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Ribal has always been drawn to storytelling. With a deep training in photography, Ribal Hosn was mentored by Eryk Fitkau before opening his own successful independent studio where he continued to work in fashion, music and advertising.

When social media started to expand its scope and clients commanded richer content across more lateral platforms his work blossomed into a new creative territory. Drawing influences from science, art, music and psychology, he has created a distinct voice with his unorthodox style and all-round approach in filmmaking. Minimal yet opulent, his work can generate an entire visual universe in a 100 second burst. His style and attention to detail in translating the designer’s vision has set himself apart from how fashion was meant to be captured - “No designer ever conceived something to sit still on someone.”

As the fashion film industry has grown, Ribal has emerged as one of Australia’s leading fashion filmmakers which has led him to work with publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, i-D, Wonderland, Oyster and Vogue and has given him the opportunity to shoot with clients such as Country Road, DSqaured2, Coach, Camilla and Marc, SIR, Discount Universe, Strateas Carlucci, Myer, David Jones, Fila and Adidas. His style of work has also led him to work with musicians such as St. Vincent, The Veronicas, Joey Bada$$, Jaguar Jonze and Cub Sport.
